Cape Tribulation - the jewel on the Daintree Crown, 36 km. north of the Daintree river, a visit to the Daintree is not complete if you haven't been here, and the drive up there through the rainforest is an attraction itself.
This is one of the most convenient areas to stay overnight, within a two km. radius you will find accommodation, bars, restaurants, shops, beach walks. Many local tours only pick up from here, not from further south.
Cape Tribulation has B&B, backpackers, budget accommodation, cabins, resorts, camping and a holiday home.

Thornton Beach - A small community of only a dozen or so houses right by a pristine beach with a cafe, perfect for relaxing beach holidays.
Thornton Beach has one holiday home and two bungalows.

Diwan - You won't see any signs to this area but it is roughly anything in between Cow Bay and Thornton Beach. This area has a few attractions such as the Ice Cream Company and the Insect Museum.
In this area there is B&B, some resorts, cabins and a wide choice of holiday homes.

Cow Bay - A rather spread out area of rainforest with a nice beach, there is quite a choice in accommodation available here and some attractions such as the Discovery Centre, Cow Bay Beach and the Daintree Icecream Company.

Forest Creek - the first road on your left after you leave the Daintree river ferry. Two nice holiday homes here but no other tourist attractions.

Cape Kimberley - Tourism wise an undeveloped area, only has only two holiday homes as accommodation options, both with spectacular views.

Daintree Village - a scenic area but contrary to misconceptions not the village in the rainforest. Timber cutters cleared the big red cedar trees a long time ago and now cows graze the green fields. There are a few accommodation choices which is handy if you want to do the early morning birdwatching tour, but to really see the Daintree rainforest you need to travel across the Daintree river up to Cape Tribulation.

During the peak season most Daintree accommodation is usually full, so make sure you book in advance. This means mid June to late September, but especially July and August are the busiest months when it can be hard to find any accommodation in the Daintree without pre-booking.
